Hour of Code (4th grade & Up) -
Not
only is coding massively important to the fabric of our digital world, but it
can also be pretty fun! Sign up for this quick introduction to activities
on Code.org and play fun games while learning the fundamentals of
basic coding then try your hand on some of our programmable robots!

Electric Origami (4th grade & Up) - 2-part class - 9/11 - 9/13
Learn
to fold origami and make your creation glow with an embedded LED.
TinkerCAD 3D Design & Printing (4th grade & Up) - 4-part class - 9/18 - 9/27
Learn
to create 3D models and print them out on the Makerbot Replicator! This
class will teach you the basics of 3D design and how to
use Tinkercad.com to create 3D objects that can be printed on any 3D
printer.
October
Vinyl Cutter (4th grade & Up) - 2-part class - 10/9 - 10/11
Design
and make a cool vinyl cling using our Silhouette Cameo vinyl cutter and stick
it to flat surface.
Soldering (6th grade & Up) - 4-part class - 10/16 - 10/24
Learn
how to solder electronics! We'll teach you how to handle a soldering iron
and soldering safety, how to assemble components on a circuit board and
everything else you need to know to bring electronics to life!
Create-A-Ghost (4th grade & Up) - 10/30
Create
a ghost in the library using everyday materials like packing tape, cling wrap
and LEDs.
November
Tensegrity Structures (4th grade & Up) 2-part class - 11/13 - 11/15
reate
an tensegrity structure in the shape of an icosahedron out of rubberbands and
straws and then hook your creation up to a motor and power to see it move! Add some markers and you've got a
scribblebot!
Ozobot Obstacle Course Challenge (4th grade & Up) 2-part class - 11/27 - 11/29
Use
coding techniques you've picked up from our Hour of Code sessions to program
our cute Ozobot robots to run an obstacle course (no previous coding experience
necessary)!
