Technology Classes for Teens

Tuesday & Thursdays @ 4pm



Hour of Code (4th grade & up) - 
Not only is coding massively important to the fabric of our digital world, but it can also be pretty fun!  Sign up for this quick introduction to activities on Code.org and play fun games while learning the fundamentals of basic coding then try your hand on some of our programmable robots!




Robot Club (6th grade & up) - 
Interested in robotics?  Join our monthly robot club to learn how to use our Vex Robotics kit and form our very own Library Robotics Team!




March


TinkerCAD (4th grade & up) - 4-part class - 3/12 - 3/21
Learn to create 3D models and print them out on the Makerbot Replicator!  This class will teach you the basics of 3D design and how to use Tinkercad.com to create 3D objects that can be printed on any 3D printer.

Ozobot Obstacle Course Challenge (4th grade & up) - 2-part class - 3/26 - 3/28
Use coding techniques you've picked up from our Hour of Code sessions to program our cute Ozobot robots to run an obstacle course (no previous coding experience necessary)!

Video Game Creator (6th grade & up) - 4-part class - 4/9 - 4/18
Try your hand at making a simple video game using Flowlab!

Comic Book Creator (4th grade & up) - 4-part class - 4/23 - 5/2
Convert digital photos of real people and objects into cartoons, add captions and create your own comic.

TinkerCAD (4th grade & up) - 4-part class - 5/14 - 5/23

Vinyl Cutter (4th grade & Up) - 2-part class - 5/28 - 5/30
Design and make a cool vinyl cling using our Silhouette Cameo vinyl cutter and stick it to flat surface.

Robot Club - February 2019

Today was a victorious day for Robot Club we managed to get our clawbot up and running by rewriting the default firmware!  After driving around for a while and picking things up with the claw we tried swapping out the wheels.  Not bad for a day's work!
