Hour of Code: June 2019

Today was a big Hour of Code session!  We had an almost full classroom of coders learning and honing their skills on www.code.org!

Robot Club

Today was the first day of Robot Club for the summer.  We had a batch of all new students this time around and we are getting started from the ground up!

Vinyl Cutter - Day 2

Today was the last day for vinyl clings and the last day of spring for PNG and a lot of these kids.  School is out and PNG Summer 2019 starts next week, Tuesday @ 2pm!

Iris and Alexis have been working hard on creating posters for "fun".

Vinyl Cutter - Day 1

Today was our first day of vinyl cutter class.  We are making vinyl clings of all different shapes and sizes.  On Thursday we'll have them all cut out and ready to go!

3D Printing & TinkerCAD (4-part) 7/16 - 7/25

Learn to create 3D models and print them out on the Makerbot Replicator!  This class will teach you the basics of 3D design and how to use Tinkercad.com to create 3D objects that can be printed on any 3D printer.

TinkerCAD - Last Day... for now

Today is the last day of TinkerCAD class!  We are prepping our designs for the printer and soon we'll have some cool objects to take home and show off our hard work!

Today was another surpise PNG class.  Alexis and Khalil stopped by and worked on some 3D designs in TinkerCAD.  It was pretty cool.

Comic Book Creator - Day 4

Today was the last day of our Comic Book Creator class, but I have a feeling work will continue!

Comic Book Creator - Day 2

Today was the second day of comic book creator.  We've gotten familiar with the process and now it's time to start producing pages!

Comic Book Creator - Day 1

Today is day one of Comic book creator.  We started things off easy with just a simple self portrait to get familiar with the process of creating our own art.  First we start by taking a digital photo, then printing the photo and tracing it.  Then we scan that trace into the computer and use Adobe Photoshop to give it color.  It's a cool effect and if the students get good at it they'll be able to create a bunch of images, enough for a panels and pages and before you know it a whole comic book!

Video Game Creator - Final Day!

We're going gold!  Time to pass cert!  The devs are done and the testers known shippable have been submitted.  Have fun and enjoy our Flowlab arcade below!

Video Game Creator: Day 2 or 3

Games are serious business and we got down to business with our video game designs.  We had a chance to kick the tires and see what was possible using Flowlab, last time.  This time it's all about realizing our vision and creating the video game of our dreams!  Only one more class to go and then you can try them for yourselves!

We're back!  We took a sick day on Tuesday so even though today is the 2nd day it's actually of the 1st.  Still with me?

We are making video games using Flowlab.  Flowlab is simple, but very powerful.  The students are figuring it out as they go along and asking for help when they get stuck.

Today was Hour of Code!  We worked on some exciting projects and it was the Ozobot Obstacle Course's last hurrah!

TinkerCAD: Day 4

Today was the last day of TinkerCAD class!  The students worked hard and created their own 3D object from scratch!  As soon as class is over we will fire up the 3D printers and get them fabricated for them to pick up at the reference desk
